9th 2010 - Public Assembly, Brooklyn, NY
The
motivation behind organizing this show is simple - The devastating
impacts of natural disasters in developing/under-developed countries
require huge cost and time to restore normal life. The United Nations
Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean has estimated
that Haiti needs $11.5 billion in investment over three years to
recover from the earthquake. A solemn sense of the magnitude of the
relief efforts that will be required to restore normal life in Haiti
motivated a group of musicians and good Samaritans to produce a show to
benefit earthquake victims in the nation of Haiti. It is now our turn
to step up and contribute towards a great cause. Thanks to all the
generous people in bringing this event together. We are looking forward
to a great evening to raise funds to bring food, water, medicine and
supplies to thousands of families in an earthquake-and-poverty-ravaged
nation and present what will surely be one of the greatest high-bass
electronic shows of the year in New York.
All profits of the
event will be donated to the International Rescue Committee
(http://www.theirc.org/), which has relief teams on the ground in
Port-au-Prince, Haiti. IRC is working with local aid groups
to provide assistance to survivors, including food, shelter, and other
necessary resources to thousands of families.
The
show
will begin at 10.00 p.m. We hope to see you at the show and don't
forget to bring your support to make this event a huge success. There
are several ways you can donate. Sponsorship donations are still
available. As a sponsor, you will be mentioned at the concert, added to
the newspaper print ads, along with the website as well as any
additional advertising we may be doing to announce the event.
